Update from the Camp Program Team:
|
Greetings!
Our prayers are with all of you as we navigate this tragic time across the world. Especially now we are keeping our eyes fixed on the hope we have in Christ and His faithfulness and provision. For those of you who have been anticipating Covenant Bible Camp this year, you may be curious about what is happening in light of a global pandemic. Since December, we have been praying, planning, and recruiting with great expectations for what God will do this summer. Over the past few weeks our program team has been working hard to survey the situation and work with communities and agencies to determine the best course of action for the CBC ministry. After much prayer, seeking counsel and discernment, we have officially made the decision that we will not be doing a traditional in-person camp experience in Unalakleet this summer. This is a hard decision that we have grieved over. After seeking guidance from several agencies, church communities, and the CYAK board, we believe holding camp would not be wise or caring. So what is next? Our program team is working hard to create an alternative plan to engage with the youth around the state, specifically with the villages where we know many campers reside. We are not sure what this will look like right now, but we wanted to keep you updated with what is going on behind the scenes. We will continue to post updates on the Covenant Bible Camp Facebook page and the Covenant Bible Camp website (www.covenantbiblecamp.org). We are excited to see what camp transforms into for this year. Refunds will be made for those of you who have registered early.
